David Mack MD
Psychiatrist
Dr. David Mack is a Psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He went to medical school in Saba, Dutch West Indies and completed his Psychiatry residency in Fargo, ND. Dr. Mack then practiced in Bismarck, ND working in the outpatient and inpatient setting, serving clients with dual diagnosis and Mental Health needs. Dr. Mack has also worked as a Consult Liaison as well as in Emergency Psychiatry.
His background ranges from crisis situations to serving individuals who just needed therapy around everyday life stressors. Dr. Mack believes that healing can be found within the community that surrounds the individual. He believes there are five main areas that help create happiness in life; relationships, meaningful work, hobbies, spirituality, and community. Dr. Mack has a strong desire to help people engage in their communities, while working with psychotherapy and medications.
Dr. Mack’s eclectic work life began growing up in New Jersey, followed by college in New Orleans, where he graduated with a degree in Biology. He then moved to Utah where he spent a few years skiing, followed by California as a Marine Biologist. David then went to Washington where he studied Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, followed by a residency in North Dakota where he was a resident physician in Family Medicine and in Psychiatry. He moved to Alaska in 2011.
When not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and family dog. He finds joy in hiking, skiing, biking, sailing, cooking, playing music, and the practice of yoga.
