Dr Babij completed his fellowship with the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology while working at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in 2006. He moved to Alaska to implement integrative oncology programs at Providence Hospital, Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital, and Alaska Cancer Treatment Center. He has served our oncology community for 14 years and his approach includes arming his patients with a warrior attitude to survivorship while managing epigenetic, metabolic, and environmental factors. In addition to oncology, Dr B practices functional medicine with an emphasis on cellular optimization planning and anti-aging medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys foraging in the forest, riding our mountains and sea.

Josie Heyano, LMSW is a Deg Xinag Athabascan woman, her family is from Tanana and Ekuk, Alaska. Josie has several years of experience providing clinical mental health services, systems navigation and advocacy for youth experiencing homelessness, exploitation, and human trafficking in Alaska. Aleta is a lifelong Alaskan. Aleta completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage majoring in Social Work. Sara is an advocate, a researcher, an auntie, a sister, and a friend. She has degrees in Human Service and Psychology, and she brings all of these into practice when serving our patients. “There are resources in the community that are available if you know where to look. Sometimes it takes knowing whom or what to ask to get your needs met; if you even know what those needs are.” My goal in serving our patients is to meet them where they are, to encourage and direct them and to explore all the options available to find the best fit for their needs.”
Uju brings multiple years of experience in the health care field, helping patients coordinate and integrate the support and care that they need. She is compassionate, empathic, energetic and full of life. Her education is in psychology, Law, certified nursing assistant, and she is currently pursuing her master’s in clinical mental health psychology with emphasis on children and adolescent disorders. Uju’ s vision is to have enough resources and advocacies for those in need and be able to empower individuals. She enjoys reading books, going to the movies, traveling and spending time with family.
